Alan Douches is an American mastering engineer based in New York's Hudson Valley, where he owns West West Side Music. Since 1989 he has mastered thousands of albums, including early and career-defining records by *Sufjan Stevens*, *Fall Out Boy*, *Converge* and *Animal Collective*, as well as releases by *Mastodon*, *The Misfits* and *Fleetwood Mac*. No standard artist category honestly fits a mastering engineer, so he is filed here as a producer-type credit, with his real role stated plainly in this text.
