Alison Krauss is an American singer and fiddler who played a pivotal role in the modern revival of bluegrass music. A prodigy, she signed with #Rounder Records# at age 14 and soon began performing with her band, Union Station. Her ethereal soprano and instrumental prowess helped bridge the gap between traditional roots music and mainstream country and pop. Her participation in the 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' soundtrack brought bluegrass to a massive new audience. A highly decorated artist, she has won 27 Grammy Awards, both for her work with Union Station and for celebrated collaborations, most notably with *Robert Plant* on the album 'Raising Sand'.
