Biography
Altar of Plagues was a three-piece Irish post-black metal band formed in Cork in 2006 by multi-instrumentalist James Kelly. Over their seven-year trajectory, the group evolved from sprawling atmospheric black metal on their 2009 debut White Tomb into a fusion of industrial noise, post-metal and electronics on their 2013 final album Teethed Glory and Injury. They toured extensively with both avant-garde and extreme metal acts before their definitive split in late 2013
