Biography
Assück was a grindcore band from St. Petersburg, Florida, active from 1987 to 1998. Guitarist Steve Heritage, drummer Rob Proctor and singer Paul Pavlovich made 'Anticapital' (1991) a genre landmark; after Pavlovich's departure the band completed one more classic, 'Misery Index' (1997), before splitting. Their records remain benchmarks of American grindcore and its mixture of grind, death metal and hardcore.
