Biography
Barkmarket was a New York noise rock trio formed in 1987, fronted by singer and guitarist Dave Sardy with John Nowlin on bass and Rock Savage on drums. Signed to #American Recordings# after two independent releases, the band issued 'Vegas Throat' and 'Gimmick' before closing with 'L. Ron' on #Man's Ruin Records# in 1996. Their aggressive mix of hardcore, metal and noise, leavened by Sardy's absurdist lyrics, made them cult favourites before his production work ended the band in 1997.
