Biography
Belphegor is an Austrian blackened death metal band from Salzburg, formed in 1991 as Betrayer and led since by guitarist and vocalist Helmuth Lehner. From 'The Last Supper' in 1995 through 'Lucifer Incestus', 'Conjuring the Dead' and 'The Devils', the band has fused death metal speed with black metal ritual and blasphemous imagery across twelve studio albums. Their live shows remain notorious for ritual staging and relentless intensity worldwide today.
