C. Tangana

Biography

C. Tangana, born Antón Álvarez Alfaro in Madrid, is a Spanish rapper and songwriter who emerged from the collective *Agorazein* and broke through solo with 'Ídolo' in 2017. On 'El Madrileño' in 2021 he fused hip hop with flamenco and Latin traditions, creating Spain's best-selling album of that year and a landmark of modern Spanish pop that recast a former underground rapper as a curator of his country's musical heritage and a nine-time Latin Grammy winner.
