Biography
American avant-prog band from Phoenix, Arizona, formed in the late 1970s by keyboardist Scott Brazieal, guitarist Mark Innocenti and drummer Gary Parra. The trio recorded the debut album 'Cartoon', released in 1982, before expanding in San Francisco with woodwind player Herbert Diamant and violinist Craig Fry for 'Music From Left Field' (1983). Influenced by the Rock in Opposition movement, Cartoon played intricate, largely instrumental music until equipment theft on a French tour ended the band. #Cuneiform Records# later reissued both albums as 'Sortie'.
