Biography
French psychedelic and progressive band formed in 1970 around keyboardist Roland Bocquet. Their 1971 debut on #Saravah#, later titled 'Masq', pairs organ improvisation with wordless vocals; 'Les Chevrons' and 'Illuminations' followed in 1972, with further recordings issued from the archives after the band split in the mid-1970s. Long obscure, Catharsis are now prized by collectors of French underground rock. Their reputation rests largely on that small, strange catalogue.
