Biography
Cenotaph are a Mexico City death metal band formed in 1989, pioneers of the Mexican extreme metal underground. Their debut 'The Gloomy Reflection of Our Hidden Sorrows' (1992) set out occult, old-school death metal, while 'Riding Our Black Oceans' (1994) and 'Epic Rites' (1996) turned toward melodic, epic songwriting after a major line-up change. Drummer Oscar Clorio is the constant through every era. The band split in 2002 after 'Saga Belica' and reformed in 2018.
