Biography
Italian progressive rock band from Naples, formed in 1971 around guitarist Corrado Rustici, vocalist Gianluigi Di Franco, bassist Antonio Spagnolo and flautist Giulio D'Ambrosio. Cervello's sole album of its original run, 'Melos' (1973) on #Ricordi#, is a cult classic of Italian prog: Greek myth themes, dense flute writing, complex time signatures and no keyboards. The band split soon afterwards, but 'Melos' grew steadily in reputation, and the surviving members returned in 2025 with 'Chaire', built from 1970s songs and Di Franco's restored archival vocals.
