Brighton-based four-piece Chalk Hands craft what they aptly describe as “loud, sad songs.” Formed in 2016, the band has carved a niche for themselves with a sound that powerfully merges the raw, cathartic intensity of screamo with the expansive, atmospheric soundscapes of post-rock and the intricate arrangements of math rock. Their music is a study in contrasts, seamlessly shifting between moments of delicate, melodic beauty and explosive, aggressive outbursts.
