Biography

Charles de Goal is the solo project of French musician Patrick Blain, begun after his band C.O.M.A. split in 1979. Its debut album 'Algorythmes' (1980), released on #New Rose Records#, is a cornerstone of French cold wave, mixing minimal synth, post-punk and dark experimental pop. Blain worked anonymously and refused to tour until 1985, releasing 'Ici l'ombre', '3' and 'Double Face' before a long hiatus, and later revived the project for new albums in the 2010s.
