Biography
Consolidated are an American industrial hip hop collective formed in San Francisco in 1988 by Adam Sherburne, Mark Pistel and Philip Steir, formerly of *Until December*. Fusing rap, sampling, industrial noise and dance rhythms, they made unapologetically radical records for #Nettwerk# and #London#, including 'The Myth of Rock', 'Friendly Fascism' and 'Play More Music', and turned live shows into open debates with their audiences. Since the original trio split after 1994, Sherburne has kept Consolidated going, latterly with largely instrumental, improvisational recordings that retain the project's confrontational spirit.
