Biography

Control Denied was the progressive metal band formed in Florida by *Death* leader Chuck Schuldiner to explore melodic metal with a dedicated clean singer, Tim Aymar, alongside Shannon Hamm, Steve Di Giorgio and Richard Christy. Its only album, 'The Fragile Art of Existence' (1999) on #Nuclear Blast#, is a technically dazzling departure from death metal. The band ended with Schuldiner's death in December 2001, during work on a second record.
