Biography
Crowded House is an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1985 by New Zealand singer Neil Finn with drummer Paul Hester and bassist Nick Seymour, after the breakup of *Split Enz*. The self-titled debut (1986) produced the US number two single 'Don't Dream It's Over', and 'Temple of Low Men' (1988) and 'Woodface' (1991), the latter made with Finn's brother Tim, extended their success. 'Together Alone' (1993) is often cited as their finest record. The band split in 1996 and reformed in 2006, then again in 2020 with a lineup including Finn's sons Liam and Elroy and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, releasing 'Dreamers Are Waiting' (2021) and 'Gravity Stairs' (2024).
