Biography
Death was a pioneering American proto-punk band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1973 by brothers David, Bobby and Dannis Hackney. Their fast, aggressive rock sound predated punk, but labels balked at their name; when *Clive Davis* of #Columbia Records# demanded a change, the band refused, self-released the single 'Politicians in My Eyes' in 1976 and split in 1977. Rediscovered by collectors, their 1975 recordings were issued as '...For the Whole World to See' in 2009, and Bobby and Dannis reformed the band that year.
