Biography
German band formed in Hamburg in 1984, founders of the city's punk scene and forerunners of the Hamburger Schule. Die Goldenen Zitronen started with comic fun punk on 'Porsche, Genscher, Hallo HSV' (1987), then turned toward political songwriting and an experimental mix of punk, hip hop, jazz, krautrock and electronics on albums such as 'Das bi脽chen Totschlag' (1994), 'Lenin' (2006) and 'More Than a Feeling' (2019). Only singer Schorsch Kamerun and Ted Gaier remain from the founding line-up, leading a collective known for chaotic, theatrical live performances.
