Biography

New Orleans pianist and singer Dr. John (Mac Rebennack, 1941-2019) fused R&B, funk and voodoo pageantry on 'Gris-Gris' (1968) and hit the charts with 'Right Place, Wrong Time' from 'In the Right Place' (1973), produced by *Allen Toussaint*. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, he embodied New Orleans music for six decades. His gravel voice and rolling piano made him the living symbol of the Crescent City..
