Biography

Dunaj are a legendary Brno alternative rock band, formed as Kolektiv in 1986 and renamed in 1989. Their early lineup featured Iva Bittová and Pavel Fajt alongside Josef Ostřanský, Vladimír Václavek and Jiří Kolšovský, mixing art rock, minimalism and punk in odd metres. Albums including 'Rosol', 'Dudlay' and 'La La Lai' gave them cult status before they disbanded in 1998, shortly before Kolšovský's death. Ostřanský, Václavek and drummer Pavel Koudelka reformed the band in 2018 and released 'Za Vodou' in 2022.
