Biography
Emergency was a Munich based jazz rock band formed at the end of 1970 by Czech reed and keyboard player Hanus Berka. The multinational first line-up recorded 'Emergency' (1971) and 'Entrance' (1972) for #CBS#, mixing brass arrangements with progressive rock. Rebuilt around Berka in late 1972 with singer Peter Bischof and guitarist Richard Palmer-James, the band turned toward jazz, soul and funk rock on 'Get Out to the Country' (1973) and 'No Compromise' (1974), both released on #Brain#, before folding in 1974.
