Biography
Dutch symphonic metal band formed in Reuver in 2002 by former *After Forever* guitarist Mark Jansen, first under the name Sahara Dust. Epica pair Simone Simons's soprano singing with Jansen's growled vocals over orchestral and choral arrangements, beginning with 'The Phantom Agony' (2003). Their albums for #Nuclear Blast# and later labels include 'The Divine Conspiracy' (2007), 'Design Your Universe' (2009), 'The Quantum Enigma' (2014), 'Omega' (2021) and 'Aspiral' (2025), making them one of the defining acts of modern symphonic metal.
