Esben and the Witch

Esben and the Witch

Esben and the Witch are a British trio formed in Brighton in 2008, known for their atmospheric and intense sound often dubbed 'nightmare pop'. The band, consisting of Rachel Davies, Thomas Fisher, and Daniel Copeman, blends elements of post-rock, electronic, and gothic textures. They first gained traction with their self-released '33' EP in 2009, before signing to #Matador Records# for their acclaimed 2011 debut album, 'Violet Cries'. Throughout their career, they have evolved from a raw, guitar-driven sound to more expansive and experimental compositions, eventually releasing music on their own #Nostromo Records# imprint and later with #Season of Mist#, solidifying their reputation for creating immersive and emotionally charged music.
