Biography
Ex-Easter Island Head is a Liverpool experimental ensemble formed in 2009 by Benjamin D. Duvall. Its members play horizontally laid electric guitars and bass with mallets, bows and preparations, creating overtone-rich minimalism influenced by gamelan and process music. The 'Mallet Guitars' trilogy, 'Large Electric Ensemble' and 'Twenty-Two Strings' built its reputation, alongside collaborations with orchestras and composers. Now a quartet of Duvall, Benjamin Fair, Jonathan Hering and Andrew PM Hunt, the group released 'Norther' in 2024 on #Rocket Recordings#, its first studio album in eight years, to wide critical acclaim.
