Faf谩 de Bel茅m is a Brazilian singer, born Maria de F谩tima Palha de Figueiredo on 9 August 1956 in Bel茅m, Par谩, and one of the great female voices of M煤sica Popular Brasileira. Singing professionally since the 1970s, she is known for a husky, emotionally wide-ranging voice applied to ballads, samba, lambada and Portuguese fado, for albums such as 'Tamba-taj谩' and 'Meu Fado', and for her prominent role in Brazil's 1984 campaign for free elections.
