Far Apart

Biography

Far Apart were an emo band from Luleå, Sweden, formed in 1995 around guitarists Mats Ömalm and Stefan Sundström. Their only substantial release, the 'Hazel' EP, appeared in 1997 on #Carcrash# and reached the United States through #Crank!# in 1998, where its melodic, interlocking guitar sound drew comparisons with *Texas Is the Reason* and *The Promise Ring*. True to their anti-corporate stance, the band turned down major label interest, issued a split EP with *The John Doe Band*, and split in 1999 with a planned album unreleased.
