Fridge

Biography

British post-rock trio from Putney, London, formed in 1996 by Kieran Hebden, Adem Ilhan and Sam Jeffers. Fridge mixed guitar, bass and drums with sampling and electronics across five studio albums, from 'Ceefax' (1997) and 'Eph' (1999) to the pastoral 'Happiness' (2001) and 'The Sun' (2007). Hebden later became best known for his solo project *Four Tet*. Their records helped define the meeting point of post-rock, electronica and folk that became known as folktronica.
