Biography
Madrid trio Jaime Urrutia, Ferni Presas and Edi Clavo formed Gabinete Caligari in 1981, naming themselves after the German expressionist film 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari'. Central to the Movida Madrileña, they progressed from post-punk darkness to a castizo-flavoured pop-rock dubbed 'rock torero', scoring Spanish classics such as 'Cuatro rosas', 'Camino Soria' and 'Al calor del amor en un bar' before disbanding, with the core line-up intact, in 1999.
