Biography
God Is an Astronaut is an Irish post-rock band from County Wicklow, formed in 2002 by twin brothers Torsten Kinsella (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Niels Kinsella (bass). With drummer Lloyd Hanney, a member from 2003 to 2025, they developed a largely instrumental style drawing on electronic music, krautrock and space rock. Albums such as 'All Is Violent, All Is Bright', 'Origins' and 'Embers' (2024) made them one of Ireland's most internationally toured post-rock acts, known for live shows built around self-edited film projections.
