Gordon Giltrap

Biography

Gordon Giltrap is an English fingerstyle guitarist from Brenchley, Kent, whose virtuoso solo playing broke through with 'Visionary' (1976), based on William Blake's poems, and 'Perilous Journey' (1977). His instrumental 'Heartsong', from the latter album, became a UK hit single and the theme of the BBC's Holiday programme, carrying his altered-tuning technique to a mass audience. He has recorded and toured for five decades, including 'From Brush and Stone' (2009) with *Rick Wakeman*.
