Gros Enfant Mort

Gros Enfant Mort is a screamo and post-hardcore band from Poitiers, France. The project began in 2019 as a solo endeavor for Alexis, former drummer of the punk band *Johk*, who wrote and recorded the debut self-titled EP entirely on his own. Following its digital release in May 2019, the project evolved into a full band to perform live. Influenced by French screamo pioneers like *Daïtro* and American post-hardcore acts such as *Defeater*, the group's music is characterized by raw emotional intensity, abrasive yet melodic guitars, and French-language lyrics exploring themes of anxiety, depression, and social alienation. They have released the albums 'La Banalité du Mal' and 'Le sang des pierres'.
