Biography
Hubert Laws is a Houston born American flutist who started with the early *Jazz Crusaders*, studied at Juilliard and played with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic before building a solo career. His #Atlantic Records# debut 'The Laws of Jazz' came in 1964, and his #CTI Records# albums 'Afro-Classic', 'The Rite of Spring' and 'Morning Star' fused classical repertory with jazz and soul, establishing him as jazz's leading flutist of the 1970s.
