Biography
Incapacitants are a Japanese harsh noise duo formed in Osaka in 1981 by Toshiji Mikawa of *Hijokaidan*. After relocating to Tokyo, Mikawa was joined by Fumio Kosakai, formerly of *C.C.C.C.*, and the pair have pursued 'pure' noise ever since, using feedback, electronics and vocals to remove musical intention from sound. Albums such as 'Feedback of N.M.S.', 'Quietus' and 'As Loud As Possible' established them, alongside *Merzbow*, as defining acts of the Japanoise movement, with rare but ferocious live performances.
