Biography

Jakob is a post-rock trio from Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, formed in July 1998 and unchanged since: guitarist Jeff Boyle, bassist Maurice Beckett and drummer Jason Johnston. The band plays largely instrumental music, favouring slow builds, heavy climaxes and wide, atmospheric textures over vocals or samples. Its albums, including 'Subsets of Sets', 'Cale:Drew', 'Solace' and 'Sines', were released through #Midium Records# and overseas labels, and the trio has toured internationally as support for *Isis* and *Tool*.
