Johnny Smith was an American jazz guitarist revered for his flawless technique, sophisticated chordal work, and pure tone. His 1952 recording of 'Moonlight in Vermont' for #Roost Records#, featuring saxophonist *Stan Getz*, became one of the best-selling jazz records of its time and remains his signature achievement. A versatile musician, he was a first-call studio player for #NBC# and the composer of the instrumental "Walk, Don't Run," later a major hit for The Ventures.
