Biography
Kante are a German band from Hamburg, formed in 1995 by Peter Thiessen and Sebastian Vogel and associated with the Hamburger Schule. Beginning with the instrumental 'Zwischen den Orten' in 1997, they blended post-rock, jazz and German-language indie pop, expanding their sound with orchestral arrangements on 'Zweilicht' in 2001. Albums such as 'Zombi' and 'Die Tiere sind unruhig' brought chart success in Germany during the 2000s. After a long period working mainly in theatre productions, the band summarised that period with the album 'In der Zuckerfabrik' in 2015.
