Biography
Keely Smith (1928-2017) was an American traditional pop and jazz vocalist from Norfolk, Virginia. As *Louis Prima*'s singing partner she anchored one of the most popular American stage acts of the 1950s, projecting serene composure against his clowning. Her #Capitol# solo albums, including 'I Wish You Love' and 'Swingin' Pretty', are models of understated swing-era phrasing, and she continued recording and performing for more than five decades.
