Biography
Kristof Hahn is a German guitarist and composer, celebrated for his distinctive, drone-oriented lap steel guitar work with the seminal New York experimental rock band *Swans*. First joining in 1989, he contributed to the album 'White Light from the Mouth of Infinity' before rejoining for their celebrated 2010-2017 reunion and continuing as a key member. His non-traditional approach creates vast, textural soundscapes that are integral to the band's immense sound. Beyond *Swans*, he has been a member of *Michael Gira*'s project *Angels of Light*, the avant-garage band *Pere Ubu*, and has released solo work like 'Six Pieces' and 'Solo Etudes' on labels such as #Erototox Decodings#.
