Biography
La Buena Vida formed in San Sebastian, Spain in 1988 and became leading exponents of the Donosti Sound, a melodic Spanish indie pop movement of the 1990s. Fronted by singer Irantzu Valencia, the group moved from delicate twee pop on early #Siesta# releases such as 'La Buena Vida' and 'Los Mejores Momentos' toward orchestral, melancholic pop from 'Soidemersol' onward. Later albums 'Panorama', 'Hallelujah!' and 'Vidania' confirmed their lasting influence on Spanish pop, built on close harmonies, everyday lyrics and carefully arranged guitars and keyboards.
