Biography
Lamp are a Japanese trio formed in Tokyo in 2000, consisting of Taiyo Someya, Yusuke Nagai and Kaori Sakakibara. Their music blends Shibuya-kei, city pop, bossa nova, jazz, soul and funk, with detailed arrangements built around two voices, guitar, flute and accordion. After the debut 'Soyokaze Apartment Room 201' in 2003 and 'For Lovers' in 2004, they founded the Botanical House label in 2014. Albums such as 'Her Watch' and 'Dusk to Dawn' followed, and a viral revival of 'Yume Utsutsu' in 2021 expanded their audience across Asia and the West.
