Biography
Laughing Clowns was a post-punk band formed in Sydney in April 1979 by Ed Kuepper, formerly of *The Saints*, with drummer Jeffrey Wegener as his other constant member. Its brass driven, jazz inflected sound set it apart from Australian punk. The band released three studio albums, 'Mr Uddich-Schmuddich Goes to Town' (1982), 'Law of Nature' (1984) and 'Ghosts of an Ideal Wife' (1985), on its own #Prince Melon Records# and on #Hot Records#, then split, returning only for live shows in 2009 and 2010.
