Biography
Manchester post-punk band formed in 1978 around singer and visual artist Linder Sterling and, from 1979, her longest-serving collaborator, guitarist Ian Devine. Ludus mixed fractured punk, jazz improvisation, cabaret and French pop on 'The Seduction' and 'Danger Came Smiling', and became notorious for Sterling's raw-meat dress at the Haçienda in November 1982, before disbanding in the early 1980s after a spell in Brussels.
