Biography
Luna is an American indie rock band formed in 1991 by singer/guitarist Dean Wareham following the dissolution of his influential dream-pop group *Galaxie 500*. Known for their stylish, lyrical, and often hypnotic sound, the band blended intricate, dual-guitar interplay with Wareham's laconic vocals. The initial lineup included bassist Justin Harwood of *The Chills* and drummer Stanley Demeski of *The Feelies*. Over their career, Luna released a series of critically acclaimed albums on the #Elektra# and #Jetset Records# labels, including the standouts 'Bewitched' and 'Penthouse', the latter of which was lauded by Rolling Stone. After disbanding in 2005, the classic lineup reunited in 2015 and has continued to tour and record.
