Biography
Maximum the Hormone is a quartet from Hachiōji, Tokyo, formed in 1998 and settled since 1999 around Daisukehan, drummer Nao, guitarist and songwriter Maximum the Ryokun and bassist Ue-chang. The band fuses metal, hardcore, funk and pop punk with sudden structural turns, three contrasting vocalists and satirical Japanese lyrics. Records such as 'Bu-ikikaesu' and 'Yoshū Fukushū' made its collision of virtuosity and absurd humour a durable fixture of Japanese rock.
