Maynard James Keenan is an American singer, songwriter, and producer, celebrated for his distinctive and emotive vocals as the frontman for the progressive metal band Tool, the alternative rock supergroup A Perfect Circle, and the experimental project Puscifer. Born James Herbert Keenan, he is known for his reclusive nature, intellectual and often cryptic lyricism, and dynamic stage presence. Beyond his prolific musical output, which includes landmark albums like Tool's 'Ænima' and 'Lateralus', and A Perfect Circle's 'Mer de Noms', Keenan is also a successful winemaker and the owner of Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards in Arizona, where he resides.
