Biography
The Membranes are a Blackpool post-punk band formed in 1977 around John Robb, whose heavy bass and noise guitar approach influenced the American avant noise scene. Albums such as 'The Gift of Life' and 'Songs of Love and Fury' built their reputation before a 1990 split. Reformed in 2009, they have since released 'Dark Matter/Dark Energy' and 'What Nature Gives... Nature Takes Away' and played festival and choir concerts across Europe.
