Biography
Mercenárias are an all-female post-punk band from São Paulo, Brazil, formed in 1982 by Sandra Coutinho, Rosália Munhoz and Ana Machado. With Lou Moreira on drums they recorded two fierce, politically charged studio albums, 'Cadê as Armas?' (1986) for #Baratos Afins# and 'Trashland' (1988) for #EMI#, before being dropped and splitting. Coutinho reformed the band in 2006 and remains its only original member.
