Biography
Italian vocalist Mina, born Mina Anna Mazzini in Busto Arsizio in 1940, became Italy's defining female pop singer, famed for a three octave soprano, technical agility and an emancipated public image. From 'Tintarella di luna' and 'Il cielo in una stanza' through her television years and her own #PDU# label, she reshaped Italian song. She withdrew from public performance in 1978 but has recorded prolifically ever since from Switzerland.
