Murder by Death is an American band from Bloomington, Indiana, formed in 2000 by Adam Turla and Sarah Balliet, whose cello anchors the group's gothic Americana sound. Across concept albums such as 'Who Will Survive, and What Will Be Left of Them?' and 'In Bocca al Lupo', and the charting 'Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon' in 2012, the band mixed country, folk and indie rock into tales of whiskey and the Devil, touring relentlessly for 25 years.
