My New Band Believe

My New Band Believe is an English rock project formed by Cameron Picton following the 2024 hiatus of his former band, *black midi*. Functioning with Picton as the core member and a rotating cast of collaborators, the group debuted in 2025. Their sound marks a departure from *black midi*'s frantic energy, focusing on a mostly acoustic palette that draws from progressive folk, chamber music, and jazz. The project's debut album, 'My New Band Believe', was released in April 2026 on #Rough Trade Records# and features contributions from members of the band *caroline*, *Kiran Leonard*, and others, showcasing a lush, yet intricate and experimental approach to songwriting.
